Try This – 4 Big Shares for the Week

Try This community, I have some great shares for you today. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

High level:

  1. This daily habit makes you handle stress better
  2. A very inspirational conversation
  3. Why you need to DO THIS every single day to help clear cholesterol
  4. Great advice for anyone who feels stuck

Let’s get into it.

Number 1: This Makes You Handle Stress Better

If you want to be more resilient to stress throughout your day, you have to prioritize exercise

This study looked at how different intensities of aerobic exercise influence how our bodies respond to stress, and the results are fascinating.

When people exercised vigorously (about 70 percent of their heart‑rate reserve), it triggered a cortisol surge during the workout.

But here’s the kicker: afterward, their stress response was blunted.

That meant lower total cortisol levels, a weaker cortisol spike when faced with a stressor, and a faster return to baseline compared with those who did lighter‑intensity workouts.

In simple terms, intense exercise seems to “train” your stress‑response system to chill out more quickly when real-life pressure hits. Over time, that could translate to more resilience, calmer moods, and better recovery from daily stressors, whether they be physical or emotional.

Number 2: A Conversation That Inspires

My sister and I recently listened to this episode with the founder of the Savannah Bananas, the now-famous minor league baseball team, about how he turned his passion into a cultural phenomenon. I don’t watch baseball, but this conversation is so much more than that.

It’s about what it looks like to have a passion, work hard for it, and have fun all at the same time.

It definitely made me take a step back and think about how I can infuse joy and play into all that I do. As you’re thinking about your goals for next year, this is a great episode to listen to. The enthusiasm of this guest is so contagious and will really give you something to think about…or maybe it’ll just put a smile on your face! Either way, that’s a win!

Number 3: Worried About Your Cholesterol? Start Walking.

This thread on X by Greg Mushen is a must-read for anyone (like me) who is thinking about lipid clearance and heart health.

I’ve heard a lot of people talking smack about walking lately (even guests on my podcast), saying that it’s not as important as intense exercise. Well, here’s the truth: they’re BOTH important. While exercise covers the cardiovascular and muscular bases, walking plays a different, crucial role: clearing your bloodstream of lipids like LDL and VLDL (the “bad guys” in heart health).

Greg Mushen uses a powerful analogy: imagine your bloodstream is a sink. The water in the sink represents these lipoproteins, and your body uses a slow, hydraulic foot pump to drain them. Here’s the twist: it’s not intensity but frequency that moves the water. That means even your best HIIT class doesn’t keep that pump going all day—but regular walking does.

When these particles sit in your bloodstream too long, they can break down into smaller, more dangerous forms and get lodged in your arteries. This “residence time” is a key driver of atherosclerosis (plaque buildup that leads to heart disease).

So yes, exercise, but also walk throughout the day to help keep the “pump” on and your heart healthier over time.

Number 4: It Only Takes Five Minutes to Make a Change

So often we think that embarking on our goals has to look perfect—a two-hour workout or three hours of working on our passion project, but sometimes, all it takes is a few minutes to make positive momentum.

I love this share from James Clear because he’s basically saying not to get tripped up on timing or things being perfect. You’re only one decision away from working toward your hopes and dreams. So, do you have five minutes to spare today? Let’s go!

Much love,
